This week’s words are brought to you by the Number 10, and the Letter O. And gold and country music!
Monday 8th October: Country Music
Find a country music CD, or radio station. Listen to it and have fun dancing.
Tuesday 9th October: Ten
How many fingers and toes do you have? Count them. Trace around them on a piece of paper and number them.
Wednesday 10th October: Ten
Count to ten a lot today. Play hide and seek after counting to ten. Eat ten sultanas, ten peas, ten corn kernels, ten crackers.
Thursday 11th October: The Letter O
Find the letter O and cut it out of magazines and newspapers. Stick them on a piece of paper (in a big letter O if you’re crafty!)
Friday 12th October: O is for Octopus
Make an octopus. Turn a paper cup upside down and draw some eyes on one side. Cut lots of lengths of streamers or paper, and help your child stick them onto the open part of the cup to make octopus legs.
Saturday 13th October: O is for Olden Days
Talk to your kid about your childhood, the things that are the same, and the things that are different. If you can talk with a grandparent about their childhood as well, that’s even better!
Sunday 14th October: Gold
Let your child have a (supervised!) play in your jewelry box to look at your earrings, rings, necklaces and bracelets.
Have fun!
